Found a map...
I've been looking for a map of Coxmoor Woods and have kindly been sent by Mr Hill at Ashfield District Council nine! These start with the above Sandersons Map from 1835 and then the others range in date through to the present. As I walk the wood there will be a greater sense of the historical context, and this will enable me to think about how I create my own maps and further develop my drawing work. There's also a new picture folder uploaded (see link below) which includes a video clip. Let's keep walking....

Misty Walk Nov 19th 2.30pm...
Having looked online for a map I could incorporate into my latest drawing work of Coxmoor woods I drew up a blank and decided to get out this afternoon to photograph the path I take and do a montage of them together to make up my own map. There are a few photos of the walk in the link to look at. I will have a play with the results and keep you posted on how it looks...

1st Blog
Welcome to my blog where I will start share my art, my love of walking and the natural landscape. As the blog progresses you'll be able to see and share with me what's happening, and how my ideas are developing.
The picture below is from Coxmoor Woods - where there is a tension between the man made tray and the leaves held in place by the water.
